We’ll be shooting some NEW content with Red City Radio this weekend at the first annual Winter Ball and Brunch!
We shot with them back in May, but ultimately the band was not happy with their interviews. It was a stressful day (their gear was put on the wrong flight). We were hoping to release some content during the year, but we haven’t had an opportunity for re-shoots.
SO! We’re doing it this weekend and we’ll have some great content live in the new year! Very excited to get some more original content out in the coming months.
We will not be posting a new episode of "Mics" this week. We're a little behind on editing some other content and priorities dictate that we shift focus this week.
We'll be back with a new episode soon!
Episode 2 is live! Check our videos page or follow this link:
The first episode of Of Mics and Men: The Summer of Ska is live! Check it out on our videos page or follow the link below:
Hope you enjoy!
Welcome to the new Static Age Productions! Along with the refresh, we've added details about our new mission and new contact info on the "About" page.
We're very excited to announce that Of Mics and Men has been reformatted from a feature length documentary into a web series! This was a difficult decision but ultimately we felt the content we captured worked better in a serialized format.
That's not all. The first "track" will be available August 2nd; on our brand new Youtube channel! A link to the channel can be found at the bottom of any page on the website. New episodes will also be featured on our "Video" page. The plan is to drop new episodes every other week, so make sure you like and subscribe so you don't miss an episode.
Also, the first video in a series we're creating for Red City Radio will be launching in the coming weeks! More info to come on where that will be available to watch.
More cool things to come! Thanks for watching!
New website is coming soon! The rest of our site is down while we finalize the new one. Check back later today to see the new look, and come back August 2nd to see the latest on our current projects.
The website is 95% complete. We're just waiting on headshots from two of our collaborators and a logo.
That being said, we may push the reveal to end of July/Beginning of August. We have some revisions to make on a piece that was supposed to be part of the reveal/launch, and it would benefit us to hold off for now.
Thanks for sticking around!
Hey friends and internet travelers!
We're working on a much needed website overhaul, the reveal coinciding with some big announcements! If you've noticed a couple of pages missing from the top of the current home page, the new website is the reason.
As of now we expect to launch the new site in mid to late July.
Thanks for watching!
The guys in Red City Radio have been in Europe for the last few weeks and haven't had time to send us their edits on the final piece. Unfortunately we won't be able to share until those last changes are made. That being said, we hope to have it in front of your eyeballs very soon!
In other news...about a year and a half ago we assisted with the logistics and execution of video production and editing for an academic research study. Yesterday we were informed that this study was presented at a number of conferences and was accepted into the Journal of Research in Music Education. The article will be published next year.
And finally...Ratio Brewing's Second Anniversary Party! This was a blast to shoot (Dan Andriano is one of my favorite musicians...) and also happened about a year and a half ago. The audio was recorded by Ratio, and I never heard back after my last email asking about the files. I don't know if/when I'll get the audio files if at all. The in-camera stuff was recorded for syncing purposes and is not usable...in short, this will likely never see the light of day, which is really too bad because I feel like we got a lot of good stuff. As the saying goes, worse things happen at sea.
That's all for now!
We are very excited to announce that we've partnered with Media OneTEN and our friends at Red City Radio to produce some EXCLUSIVE content for the band.
We shot a Ratio Session with RCR about a year and a half ago, and after reaching out to the band we've decided to make some more cool content for our friends from OKC.
Stay tuned, the first short will be dropping soon, with more content to come throughout the year!
Thanks for watching,
After a lot of requests we've finally made The Buffalo King available, in its entirety, to watch free online! Follow this link if you'd like to have a look:
Thanks for watching!
Congrats to everyone involved in the making of Floating Horses! We had a blast at the awards and were honored to be a part of the ceremony. We are working on a wide release and will have more information this summer.
It is with great sadness that I share this news today...our dear friends, the Pace family, were the victims of a house fire and lost everything...including their pets. One of these dogs was Naki'o, and amazing animal who touched many lives. We did a short film about Naki'o a number of years ago, and it pains me to write this message today even more so because of this.
There is currently a GoFundMe page set up in their honor, and it would mean the world to us here at Static Age Productions if you made a donation to help the family get back on their feet. Please follow the link below to make a donation:
Thank you for any support that you can provide.
We have (technically) 3 upcoming showings of Floating Horses! Check out the events page for details.
It is with great pride and humility that we announce Floating Horses: The Life of Casey Tibbs has WON the 2018 Western Heritage Award for best documentary film. Huge congrats to everyone involved with the film. The Western Heritage Awards celebrate outstanding works in film, television, music and literature and is considered the top award for the western genre. Thanks to everyone who helped us along the way, we couldn't have done it without you.
Floating Horses has two upcoming screenings for 2018! Check the events page for details.
Thanks for watching!
2017 was an exciting year with Floating Horses official release and an INCREDIBLE festival run. I am humbled and honored to have been part of such a great film.
Quick recap on that note, our official total for 2017 is: 18 festivals and 7 awards! For details please check out the Floating Horses page.
2017 was not all good however, we suffered a number of delays and cancelations on other projects last year.
In 2018 our current plan is to finish some outstanding films (most notably Of Mics and Men). We also hope to wrap up the edit on a live performance video (still waiting on the audio files almost a year later, so not much I can do about this) but if they come through, we'll make it happen! We will have some updates on Floating Horses wider distribution and maybe (fingers crossed) another festival or two for 2018. Expect the distribution news sometime in April.
Most exciting for 2018 is our next feature length documentary film! We hope to have some information in regard to that project sometime in Q2.
As always, thanks for watching!
We've added and updated an events page will all upcoming screenings of Floating Horses!
We have at least 2 additional events to add to the list once the official announcements have been made, so check back for additional screenings!
